A tough list to come up with, considering I’m only 30 years old. But recent world catastrophic events have led me to rethink my approach to life. The title is somewhat morbid, nonetheless realistic and worth spending a few moments today thinking about.
Just recently we have the earthquake in China, cyclone in Myanmar, tornadoes in the mid-west, freaking war in Iraq that never ends - this is just within the past month. I know that one cannot live in fear, but for pete’s sake - shit like that undoubtedly delivers a shock to the system, my system at least.
So here are the 10 things I strive to accomplish during my time:
- Learn how to sail a boat - of course, it would be nice to own one also.
- A 2-week vacation to Romania. That’s where my wife is from.
- One month’s vacation to visit my home country - Malaysia - with my family. The last time I went back to Malaysia was about 6 years ago. Even Guy Kawasaki saw more than I have in the past 6 years about my own country!
- Visit the Great Wall of China.
- Open a coffee shop or some sort of small cafe. That’d be just a cool thing to do! How much money do I need to raise for something like that?
- Get myself a convertible car (specifically a Mercedes or BMW) . Since I have two small children - that’s quite hard to justify for now.
- Try every type of beer available to mankind. That’s quite a challenge, but I am going to start taking pictures of each beer I try and post it here. (hrmm…Beer reviews?)
- Learn how to ski - damnit, I lived in Michigan for 6 years and never been skiing!
- Qualify for (and maybe win) the WSOP tournament in Vegas.
- Have dinner with Donald Trump.
This is actually harder than I thought…
What really matters to you? Now don’t get over mushy and tell me things like I want world peace and save humanity. Be realistically wishful.
