DO NO EVIL!
So proclaims Google in all its glory. But I noticed some strange behavior in the SERPs while doing a search on seemingly a very innocent product Logitech Z Cinema 2.1 - and the bolded terms caught my attention.
What you will see is that the number “6″ is bolded in the URLs of the SERPs of my query. I tried looking and coming up with every damn SEO theory and search reasons why the number “6″ is bolded in this search for a speaker system and honestly, I am out of reasons for this phenomenon.
Now, I could be thinking too much about it, but if anyone can give me a good reason why the “6″s are bolded for a totally safe search query, I’d appreciate it very much.
Take a look at the screenshots.

here’s the bottom rest of the SERPs

Has anyone seen this behavior before in their search? Let me know.

I can’t say for sure why this is, but it’s the letter Z in your search query that is causing this to happen. I will dig deeper to see what I can find.
Maybe the Z causes this to happen. But this query alone http://www.google.com/search?q=z&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a does not highlight the 6s.
However, adding something to the “Z” like “Model Z” http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=hvQ&q=model+z&btnG=Search or even some garbage “asdsdf z” http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=qvQ&q=asdsdf+z&btnG=Search causes “6″ to be bolded.
Strange that it appears to be only in the URL that the sixes are bolded, not in the description text or the title link.
